Description

• 1950s

- The Intuition: S•CAB was founded in 1957 in Coccaglio by Cavaliere Francesco Battaglia. In an Italy experiencing rapid economic growth, the company began by producing functional furniture and housewares for a rising middle class looking to shape their domestic dreams.

 • 1960s - 1970s - Specialization:

From the 1960s onwards, the company narrowed its focus to seating. A major milestone occurred in 1973 with the launch of Patty, the first fully molded chair in thermoplastic material—a feat that established S•CAB as a pioneer in material innovation.

• Contemporary Era - Global Design:

Today, led by the third generation (Luisa and Francesca Battaglia with Adelchi), S•CAB operates three production units covering over 85,000 m2. The brand collaborates with world-renowned architects and designers, such as Maddalena Casadei and Marcello Ziliani, to create award-winning collections that blend aesthetic clarity with technological research.
